- Time of use
- PLANTOSAN can be placed as soon as the seedlings sprout.
PLANTOSAN should be removed before cold weather, allowing sufficient time for the seedlings to become acclimatized.
- Placement method
- PLANTOSAN is placed directly on the seedlings, which are free of pests, covering the foliar section and hermetically closed around the stem, as close as possible to the base of the foliage to be protected (Figure 1).
On small seedlings, an exterior edge of the PLANTOSAN should be attached to a cane or stake (Figure 2); this is also an excellent practice for seedlings which are exposed to winds.
- Size
- PLANTOSAN should be approximately double the volume of the foliage to be protected.
- Sizes (cms.)
- S: 50 X 80
M: 80 X 115
L: 100 X 130
- Caution
- Before protecting with PLANTOSAN it should be verified that the seedlings are free of pests; if this is not the case, the recommended phytosanitary treatments should be carried out, following which the PLANTOSAN protection should be aplied.
Every 15-20 days a sampling should be done (uncover some seedlings) to verify that the treatments which were carried out have been totally effective, and that other pests, which may have been present (inside), in a latent state, and were not observed or treated at the proper time, have not developed.
Certain foliar treatments can be carried out through PLANTOSAN.
